Chapter Programs:
Coaching Program – One-to-one sessions for students in grades six to eight, mentored by students at Laurentian University, School of Education (Sudbury).
Assistive Technology Day Camp – four-day summer camp for students with LDs in grades six to eight and their parents, in partnership with Cambrian College. (Sudbury) and in partnership with the Nipissing Parry Sound Catholic District School Board (North Bay).
Social Skills for Success – 7-week program for students grades four to six to improve social development and emotional well-being (Sudbury, North Bay, Sault Ste. Marie).
Youth Group – high school students act as ambassadors to speak at school functions, community events and provide input for student programming and social activities.
Parent Support Group hosts monthly sessions offering presentations on a variety of topics.
Interactive Workshops – For students, parents, educators, and the community (all four locations):
- Educator workshop topics include: LD awareness, universal design for learning, differentiated instruction and addressing anxiety.
- Student workshop topics include: LD awareness, self-advocacy/resiliency, social skills, motivation, addressing anxiety, and transition from high school to post-secondary education.
- Parent workshop topics include: advocacy, LD awareness, and conflict resolution skills for parents.
